Summer Nights

Last night we got to go to San Onofre, (a beach down toward San Diego, that we have been going to since I was little) with my family and the Swinney's, good family friends of ours that visit us almost every summer for as long as I can remember. I was exhausted (and I feel like I am getting a cold), but it was so nice and relaxing to be at the beach again!! =) I had allot of fun playing with the light of the sunset--here are a few photos from our beach night. =)

It was a fun night! And we can't wait to have more summer nights at San O! =)

Where's Mickey?

I have heard rumors about hidden Mickey's at Disneyland but never thought too much about it until last week. For some reason I couldn't get these little Mickey's that were hidden all around Disneyland out of my mind....so I went out and bought a book about the Mickey's and were to find them.

I found out that there are over 200 hidden Mickey's placed through out the main park and California Adventure by the imagineers (the people who build and design the rides and other elements of the park). In the book it says that an official list of these Mickey's does not seem to exist, and while Disney's stand on it is, "If a guest thinks they see a hidden Mickey, then it is a hidden Mickey''---but the book gives hints on how to tell if it is the real thing, or what they call "wishful thinking". It also gives you hints on where to find them.

I shared all this with Brody when he got back from Dallas....and we set off to find our selves some hidden Mickey's!

We had so much fun looking and we found so many of them (but didn't want to post all the photos)...and still have allot to find, it will be fun to find them here and there over the years! There are always new ones, as new rides and such are added! =)

Brody's new ride!!!

It's a long board skate board (is...how...you would put it, I guess). He has been wanting one for a loooooong time now, and last week when we were at Disneyland, we stopped in at the Quicksilver store (in Downtown Disney) and he found a very cool Sector 9 board that he LOVED! We were still in the middle of our Disneyland night, so he happily took the tram back (because I don't think they allow skate boards in the park) =) and had a fun ride on his new board in the parking garage while finding the car! So cute! I am so happy he found one he loves and will have so much fun with! =)

He got it shortly before leaving for Dallas so he hasn't had much time to ride--I am excited to take it out with him and have a go at it myself! =) Really, I am! =)...What a fun summer toy!!

We're back in action!

If you have checked our blog over the past couple of day's you might have noticed....that it was gone! (Thank you for coming back!)---and if you read the post below, you will know why. I was able to get back most of my post's that were lost, but I don't think I will post them again (because it is what you would call, old news), but it is GREAT to have them back for us, so I can print them off and save them! =) I have noticed that I am using this as more of a journal or 'digital scrap book'. Anything at all that was fun, meaningful, sad, anything that touched us or made us laugh, ends up on here, and those are things I want to remember forever--Especially the small things I may forget!

I am sad I lost some, but as I said in the post below, I can only look forward to the fun posts to come...and be better at saving them along the way! =)

In case you are wondering...

I was doing some minor changes to the blog, and some how in between my computer freaking out on me and doing these changes, I ended up deleting all my posts!!! Can you believe it? I can't, I was floored! From what I can tell, there is no way of getting them back. But on the bright side, at lest we have our main website where we basically have all the same photos and such (different people check different sites). So we still have the same photos (and more) and most of the same text on that site, so nothing is really lost forever--but it is still sad, and I have no idea how it could have happened!? I'm boggled! But all I can do is look forward to the fun posts ahead! =) ...So if you are wondering why I such a small number of posts now, thats why! *Sigh*

Brad Paisley Concert!

Last night we went to the Brad Paisley concert. It was such a blast! Jewel and Chuck Wicks opened. Jewel was AMAZING live!! She sang all of her past hits as well as some from her new CD, and told us a little about each song. She told us that she wrote and sang ,"Who Will Save Your Soul" when she was 16, singing on street corners trying to earn money to go to Mexico. She even yodeled for us, which was so funny! Before Jewel was Chuck Wicks, who sings "Stealing Cinderella", which if you listen to Country radio they play it allot. It's a really cute song!

Then Brad came out, and he was also so amazing live! For those who don't know Brad, he is a country singer and married to Kimberley Williams (Annie from the 'Father of the Bride' movies) and they have a little son. His songs have allot of humor to them, they are really funny! We have had CD's of his for years and years, and it was really fun to see him live and talking about the songs! We had such a fun night!

Brad is a Guitar Hero pro!! ; ) ...He incorporated the Guitar Hero game into his performance to the song 'Celebrity', it was so fun! He did allot of creative things in his concert.
I made this CD from the songs on his new album, and a couple we love from past albums to remember the night by. We have a burner that prints right onto the CD, it's allot of fun!

Lucky Friday the 13th!

We had our date night at Disneyland! (I know, I know big surprise...but as I have said before, Disneyland is special to us). We had such a fun night, eating at Taste Pilot's Grill, and talking with Crush and so much more! We laughed so much and so hard we couldn't breath (but that's not too new)! =) We were lucky enough to be there the same day they where doing a soft opening of the Toy Story ride, so we got to go on it again before it opens! That along with other small things, made it a lucky day! It was nice to have a Disney day before Dallas!

Sneak Peek...

Tonight Brody and I got to get a sneak peek of Disney's new ride 'Toy Story Midway Mania'! We have been SO excited for this! About two weeks ago we entered a contest for Annual Pass holders, to win a preview of the ride before it opens on June 17th, and to my complete surprise, we won!! I entered last year to win a sneak peek of the Finding Nemo ride, and we didn't win that one, so it was so sweet to get it this time around!

The ride was so much fun, and everything we hoped it would be! During our event time, we got to ride it twice (each time only waiting in line for maybe 5mins), and got to see that the ride really is different each time you ride it! You go to about 5 different 3-D carnival games stopping at each one long enough to play a round or two! Different targets trigger different effects--sometimes you will have a rocket ship launch right at you, complete with wind and fog effects or when the water balloons pop, not only do they fly at you, but you get a bit wet! It was such a blast!! This ride became a fast favorite!! If you can get to this ride, you will love it too!! =)

Home sweet home #2

Last night we got to go to our home away from home (just cuz in the almost 5 years we have been together, we have had allot of great times here), Disneyland! It was so great to be back at our own Disneyland! =) We got to go with Shaun, his girlfriend Megan and just a whole group. It was really fun for us to spend some time with Shaun again, and we really enjoy spending time with Megan. But with it still being spring break and a Saturday night, it was really busy and we were exhausted (still jet lagged, don't know why), so we left a bit early! I think we were kidding ourselves thinking we were up to a full night at Disneyland. =) But it was still a really fun night! And we are going to try it again soon, on a week night. =)

We're here!!

After a very, very, very, long day of travel...we have started our trip in Europe!

We first flew to Chicago were we had an almost four hour lay over because of snowy weather. It was fun to see some snow! =) And we got to watch them de-ice our plane. And then our plan was too heavy to take off, because of Snowy slush on the run way, so they took off a bunch of cargo, and we were off! 8 hours later we landed in France , got our rental car and started our ten hour to Czech...which ended up being about 16 hours, Due to our many stops and naps along the way.
Once we got to Czech, we checked into our hotel around 5am...when we got to our room, we thought we would take a quick nap and then take a look around town, and we ended up sleeping until about 5:30pm!! Which made sense because we had only had about 6-7 hours of sleep in like 2-3 days! =) So we went we went exploring the next day, it was such a beautiful city! we ended up at this very important looking town square with their city hall in it, it was breathtaking! Here we ran into some Elders, one from Utah and the other from Idaho. They were surprised to see Americans, and wondered what brought us to the town, for work, we explained. The day after we headed up a mountain to a glass works factory to take a tour of where we get our glass arms made for our Schonbek fixtures. It was such an amazing little village, with snow everywhere and little streams and grand tall trees. We entered the factory to see a bunch of men doing some glass blowing! And Brody got to do some glass work as well, which was so fun for him! =) The lady who showed us around was so sweet. Everyone we have come across has been so kind.
That day after the glass factory we drove about 6 hours to Austria, where we meet with the head of the Swarovski crystal company (who just bought Schonbek). It was stunning to be in this little Austrian Village with the Alps right there behind the factory! The office we were in had such a view of them, all snow capped, with green fields and cow with bells on below. We meet with Haunas, the top guy at Swarovski, and he was so excited we were there! We gave him a gift, and he gave us some things from their company. I got a crystal bracelet, Brody got cuff links and we both got nice pens filed with crystal. It was so kind of them. We got a private tour in places the public can not go...of their grounds, offices, and Crystal World (an exhibit). It is such an impressive company, I love that we are now linked with them, and get to do all the behind the scenes stuff! =)
That day we drove to Germany and meet with Holtkotter (another line Brody reps). Holtkotter is a high end contemporary line that comes from a rural farming part of Germany and is also a family own company. I love that all these company's we are tied to have such strong family roots, it's really nice. This factory was in such a beautiful area. We got to sit a green room with the owner of Holtkotter and have a chat over looking an amazing garden! (one thing I have learned heavily in Europe, if they ask you if you would like a drink, and you ask for water, about 99% of the time you with get Sparkling water) He gave us the full factory tour, and we got to see how everything was made. It was great to get a first hand look at everything. Hans was such a nice guy, we really enjoyed our time with him! They just could not have been nicer! I
I love that we got to get all dressed up and have meetings with these very important (very nice) people, I was so proud of Brody! And I felt so grown up! =) He is pretty young in this industry, and it is so great to make these strong contacts and see what a great job he does, and how much these people really love him! I just could not be more proud of him and the great career he has ahead of him! Oh, and we got some great news that he has picked up a new line of lighting to rep, which is such great news! In our line of work, it's like getting a promotion! =) I am so excited for him!!
The next day we drove back into France, and went to Disneyland Paris! It was so fun!! We went on Space mountain expecting it to be pretty much the same as the one at home...but this one had about 2 loops and 3 cork screws, and was SO fast, which shocked us! in a good way! =) We also went on Pirates, which ended up being like ours, but backwards! Which was weird. And the Phantom Manor (Haunted House), was so spooky, and twisted. very weird! We went on some more rides, and then headed over to the other park "Disney Studios", where we went on a back lot tour, some what like what you find at Universal Studios. And then we went on Crushes coaster (from Finding Nemo) where you sit in a turtle shell and ride as if you where in the ocean being pulled and twisted by the currant, it was one of our favorite rides and we wish we had it and their space mountain back home! It was a fun day at Disneyland, but it is true what they say, ours really is better! But it was so fun to see what this one was like, and it had some great things to offer! =)
Now we are in Paris, where we were lucky enough to meet up with my family. As we step out of the hotel, we can see this Eiffel Tower on one side and we are a short walk to the Champs-Élysées. It has already been since an amazing trip, and we still have about a week to go. It is amazing to have the time that we had, Just Brody and I the first week in all those amazing places, and now we get to have time in Paris with my family, and we can go off and do our own thing as well, which we do =). It is also so fun to spend this time with my sister as well, who before we know it will be off to UT for school.

Northern CA

Well we had yet another trip to Northern CA to do some Expo work. This time we were just at the Roseville store. We worked hard, and played hard (as always on these trips) =) After we got the stores done, and since AD hadn't really been around San Francisco--we woke up at 4am on Saturday morning to head into the city! It was pretty early, but so fun! We got to see a beautiful sunrise, and got into the city at about 7am, and we pretty much had it to ourselves! It was so great! And then we hit the road to home....It was a fun trip! And we very much enjoyed having her with us, And spending some time before she goes on her mission. =)

*What is his name: Brody L. Foy (The first thing I LOVED about him was his first name, and I had never meet him...so that's all I knew...but I loved it! )

*When did you decide to get married: We decided about a week and a half after our first date! And he must have asked me a million times after! =) It was sweet.

*How long have you been married: We have been married for 3 years and a little over 2 months

*What was your first date: He asked me to a tennis match and the court lights went out, so we headed off to Disneyland!! (Which might explain why we love it so much! We had ALLOT of dates there! Still do! =)

*How long did you date: Before getting married? ummm like a year and a half....ya about that! But it feels like we still are...so almost 5 years!

*How old is he: He will be 26 on March 27th....so he's 25 right now! =)

*Who eats more: lol. That depends! On what time it is, what we are eating, so on!

*Who said "I love you" first: Oh he did! It was so cute and cleaver the way he did!

*Who is taller: He is! We joke that we are the perfect height, the way I fit when we hug! It's perfect

*Who sings better: Ummm....huumm....What type of singing and where? ;) Both I guess, I really like listening to him sing in church, and when he leaves messages on my phone singing along to one of our favorite songs that came on the radio!

*Who is smarter: He is good at the things I am not good at, like spelling and math...so for that, I'm giving it to him! =) We joke that he will help our kids with spelling and math, and I will do like the creative writing, arts---and maybe we would both do science!

*Who does the laundry, Dishes, so on: Mainly I do, because I put it on myself. Brody has allot to do already with school and work, and because I only work part time right now, I have the time to do it all. But he is really good at helping out and doing little things for me!---And I really like cleaning! Weird, I know!

*Who sleeps on the right side off the bed: If you are facing it, he does. He always sleeps by the door where ever we are at. He says it's a protection thing. =)

*Who pays the bills: I do. Another thing I like to take care of, less for him to worry about.

*Who cooks dinner: We both do. When we can, we love cooking at home!

*Who mows the lawn: Oh, If we had a lawn, I think we would get one of those big mowers you can ride....and then I think we would both want to do it. =)

*Who drives when you go out together: Brody drives ALLOT for work and school, so when he gets home and on weekends, I drive him around. Plus I LOVE driving!! So it works out great! And sometimes he drives too when we are together. =)

*Who is the first to admit they are wrong: Ummm, we both do I guess. We are mellow and easy going, and we just talk about anything that may come up.

*Whose parents do you see most: Well now it's mine, since Brody's parents moved to AZ.

*Who proposed: He did!!

*Who has more siblings: He does...by 1

Extreme Home Make over--Garage addition!

Today we finally cleaned out our garage! It was diffidently getting out of hand, and we were excited to finally be able to keep one of our cars in here! We kind of had to do this too, because the complex was going to come around and check on everyone! It was good motivation to spend part of a Saturday and get done what we have wanted to do for a while now! =) 

I know, I know--it looks pretty bad! But it gets so much better!

See! Sooooo much better! We put these nice carpet strips down on ether side so when we are getting in and out of the car (in the rain and such) we won't get the car too dirty. Looks pretty good huh?

We had a lot of fun at Target picking out things to organize all our stuff! =) 

And even Brody's car fits nicely!! =)

An interesting day!

Today I was working in LA as I have done for years, going down the same streets I have gone down a million times. But today was just a bit different, I was coming from Westwood and got off the 405 freeway at Hawthron. and I was planning on getting a quick bite at Taco Bell. So I was in the far right lane (in LA there are some streets where the 3rd lane by the curb can be parking or for driving depending on the time of day. I was in the parking lane) waiting behind some cars that were going straight, but I was planning to turn, so I was close to the curb. I had a big box truck in front of me...then he moved...That is when I noticed about 5 cop cars, and I didn't think too much of it at first (I have seen a lot of that over the years too) and was still planning on getting my lunch. The light just turned red and I was stopped RIGHT in font of the door to a furniture retail store, so I looked over and saw about 4 cops in front of this store standing just to the sides of the door to this shop with their guns drawn, and standing as if any second they were going to spring into action!! I could not believe what I was seeing, And I could not believe how CLOSE I was! I made eye contact with one of them and he didn't give me a very reassuring look! So I'm sitting there thinking, "turn green, turn green, turn green!". Then two more cop cars pull up and they get out of the cars fast with their guns drawn also! Acting very urgently---Now I am thinking, "TURN GREEN, TURN GREEN, TUREN GREEN!!" And then light turned green just as some of them went into the store! I had a BIG sigh of relief that what they were waiting for didn't come out while I was there & got back to work! It was a little scary having all of this about 5 feet away from my car and not being able to just drive away from it, I was in front of that store with all this going on for a couple mins, but when you have urgent cops with guns drawn that close, a couple mins feels very long! I'm still not sure what happened at that store today, but it was risky enough for them to get out the firearms in public!! I would have appreciated them blocking off the street! ...Well, all in a days work in LA! =)

Mongolian BBQ= Good food & good times!

The other night Brody and I went to the Mongolian BBQ. It is a place were you can order ether beef, chicken, pork and others and they bring it in a bowl frozen for you. When you are ready you can take it up and add veggies and sauces to it, and then they cook it for you! It was really fun, I hadn't been there in years! It was really good!

BBF's reunite

This past week Camille, Malia and I got together with our husbands and had lunch! It was the first time we got to this with everyone being busy, and the fact that Malia and her husband live in Hawaii! =) it was SO much fun to see them, and all spend some time together! We have all been friends for so long, it seems so crazy that we are all married now. Time flys!! =)
After lunch we meet Malia and Stuart at the driving range! It was so fun! I really miss Malia, and really never get to see her, so it was a great surprise that they were able to come home for Christmas! =)

Rose Parade

We got to go to Pasadena with my parents to see the floats from the Rose Parade up close and personal! =) It was so much fun! We parked at the Rose Bowl and they had school buses there to shuttle us to were the floats were parked. They were just parked on streets right by houses(we figured it was at the end of the route). They were so beautiful and so detailed! And they even had the floats that moved, working, so we could see it (like the Ridgeline and turned into a space ship) If you get the chance next year to go see them, you really should do it! And we would love to come too! =) just a little tip--If you have allergies, take something for it before hand! I learned the hard way! (im still not used to having them! =)

Christmas in AZ

This year we had Christmas in Arizona with Brody's parents. It was really fun, we played lots of golf (which over the years has become one of my favorite things to do, it's so relaxing) and had a nice relaxing time! =) It was so nice to have some time off from school and work! And spend some time with family! =)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

For some reason I just love New Years Eve (not as much as Christmas, but it's very close)! And some of my favorites have been spent at Disneyland (I know big surprise =) and this time was no different! We spent it with Brooks and Nikki, and it was a really fun night! We all got sparkling apple cider, party hats, noise makers and a 2008 glass champagne flute full of M&Ms. The main park at Disneyland was full at about noon, but we still made it into the California park. We went on Tower of Terror (even Nikki, who seemed to enjoy it this time! Very brave! Not everyone likes the ride =) We also did California screamin, and made it over to the Bugs Life area! And got a great spot to watch some fireworks and midnight! =) HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

The big 25

Well I just turned 25, and I still really don't feel very old! =) But I have noticed one thing as I get older...that birthdays are becoming less and less of a big deal for me. It's fun and all but I don't really want it to be a big thing. I am so happy with a low key dinner, and cake!! I even told Brody that I don't want gifts, flowers would be perfect! =)
Every year, for like ten years, my family and I have always gone to Baskin Robins to pick out an ice cream cake! =) And this was Brody's 5th time joining us! So fun! This year Brody surprised me with flowers and a really cute card. Then we went to Laurens water polo game, they won in a very exciting game! Then we went to downtown Disney, had dinner and then the ice cream cake! It was a really fun day! =)

Our 3rd Anniversary


We started off are day by having breakfast at McDonald’s before Brody had to go take a test at school.

The Blue Bayou, where we ate dinner. Sometimes it can be hard to get into, so we booked it way back (we had been planning this day for like 3 months). That is the most relaxing place to eat!



This was soooo yummy! We took the sail home with us, it is made from sugar! =)

I love Anniversaries! It is so fun to have a day to celebrate and look back on such a wonderful and blessed day! We are so grateful to our family and friends for all their love and support! Love you and hope you are all doing well and having fun getting ready for Christmas! =)

R.I.P dear fridge...

Today I decided to treat myself to a pedicure and getting my nails done! I haven't done this in soooo long! And I have to say it was very relaxing! =) During my relaxing state I get an instant message from Brody saying that he smells something funny in our apartment, something electrical burning. That is never a good thing! So he did some investigating and found out that it was coming from the fridge. He called the maintance guy (one of the reasons it is nice to rent, things like this are not an out of pocket thing) and our friend Hass didn't really know what happened, but something in the fridge fried and it no longer works! Which brings us to thinking of how to save the food! So I'm getting my nails done thinking that now we need to quickly come up with somewhere to put our food until they get us a new one...and then Brody sends me another message saying since the apartment across the way is empty, they are going to let us use that fridge until Sunday(my relaxing continues =)..., we were pretty lucky, we were getting a little low on food and I was about to go shopping to stock up! Good this this happened before that and not after, or while we were on a trip!...So Sunday they do the switch...which should be pretty interesting! =) So that was our day! =)
