"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences."

Company D

This past weekend we had the opportunity to go to Company D, a discount Disney store that is just for Cast Members---we had the opportunity to go for Friends and Family week, thanks to a friend of ours.

There was box after box, after box of toys and other little things from the park.
I think they were overstock items or things that maybe didn't sell too well. Or at least that's what it looked it. Everything was at least 50% off! It was really fun to look around! : )
This area had Cast member exclusives---this is where I got my Cast Member only Little Mermaid shirt (that is for the ride opening)!!! I LOVE IT!!
Brody got a nice watch and we got a couple other little things. We aren't big on Disney items, wearing them or having them around the house, but it was so fun to find some things that we do love! And it was a blast to check out a little Disneyland treasure.
Oh, they also have a little grocery store in there! : )

A walk in the park

The other night when Brody got home from work around 7pm, he surprised me with the idea of going up to the parks for a nice walk. Since he had been gone and on the go all day, this idea was pretty out of the norm....in a really fun way! : )
(I don't know why some of the photos didn't upload as crisp as they should have...hmmm...You can alway click on the photo to make it larger too)

Here is a little sampling of a walk in the park at night. On a week night it is so quite, peaceful and the lighting is beautiful! One of our favorite things.

We got to see the new entrance at night. It's SO beautiful!
Also the train that was a front for the shops and ice cream, is now gone....changes, changes.
But once it's all done (this time, 2012) it should look really good!

Back by the Nemo subs. I loved all the colors

Storybook Boats

Fantasyland
(and a hidden Brody in the middle) : )

The Village Haus
I love this area, and the restaurant is great too (since it had a menu overhaul).

While in California Adventure, Brody saw this necklace, thought I would love it, so he got it for me while I went back to snap a photo of something. And I do LOVE it!! It's from the new Little Mermaid couture collection! It's so fun and girly. : )

And some photos by the castle.
Such a fun spontaneous trip!!

Happy 4th!!

We had a fun, what turned into a 4th of July week!
We started off with going another one of our season ticket Angel games....and took the train again (It's just so easy and a fun break from driving)! The photo below is taken from the train station....yup, it's that close! : )
Since we were playing the Nationals we got the see the race of the presidents, which I guess they do at least every home game. Seemed fitting for the 4th too. : )

This was a great game! We got some exciting home runs and the crowd was SO into the game!

some game time photo out-takes!
Of course the thing we look forward to the whole week in the summers...
San O!!
It was such a beautiful day!
We tried bacon wrapped hot dogs that we picked up at Costco....they were really good! But I think I'd make our own with a thicker cut bacon. : )
Enjoying a beautiful night at the beach...

Saturday we had a great lunch at the newly re-opened Ruby's Shake Shack!
The menu now is great!! So many more options and better seating.

That night we went to the parks to check out the 4th of July World of Color show!
Since we showed up on a whim, we did the dining package where they give you premium "seating" tickets for the show after dinner, so we would be guarantied to see the show.
We ate at Ariel's Grotto. It was amazing because we had tickets to the 10:15 showing, so from the restaurant (which is down at water level) we could see out the big windows the 9pm show while we were eating! It was very magical (yup, magical)! : )

Some photos from the show
And there were a lot of fireworks with the show too!
It was amazing!!
Sunday after church we headed over to my parents house and we all went down to take a nice walk along the beach, it was so relaxing and beautiful!
(Happy 4th)
Dad and I : )

I really love this photo of my parents! It's so cute!
Then we went back and lite off a big box of fireworks Brody picked up on the way home from work.
Brody puts on a great show!!
On the 4th we hit the parks again!! One of the best kept secrets of the summer, is that the park is SUPER slow in the day time on the 4th. We walked on so many things, it was such a great, fun and relaxing time!!
We took a couple more flights on Star Tours...and had some Stormtroopers show up!! That was awesome! One of them followed me for a bit! I just wish Darth had come out too! : )
On Big Thunder
No one puts on a firework show like Disneyland!! It was amazing! They really stepped it up from a normal show! : )
Hope everyone had a wonderful and safe 4th!!

"Thank you for being Part of our World"

Last week my Mom and I heard they were doing a soft opening for The Little Mermaid ride. So we headed up there for lunch and a trip under the sea! The wait was short and we got right on. It was really cute!

This past weekend while Brody and I were there we saw they were doing another soft opening, so we hopped into line. And again, the line was short and moves fast. Both times we waiting under 30mins! : )

It was so fun to be able to ride it a couple times before it gets crazy busy!

The details in line are amazing!

It is all so fun and colorful. They did a wonderful job with the building and line area.

Inside!! The Ursella part was very cool!

And this was my favorite

The Little Mermaid was a big part of my childhood, I used to sing the songs all the time! So this was a lot of fun to go on the ride and have all those memories again.

We also rode the newly opened Splash Mountain and couple times with some friends!

I got head to toe soaked!! So glad it's open again! : )
