"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences."

Hi-Ho, Hi-Ho it's off to work we go...

I have been working on this huge internet project for my Dad's biggest account---It involves lots of spread sheets, thousands of tiny numbers, Ocular Migraines, tons of images and so much more! After I had a nice stack done and ready to be double checked before they were going to be sent off---My Mom and I were trying to think of a fun place to do some not so exciting work.....so we headed to Disneyland!

We found that Disneyland can be a great place to get some good work done! Here is a little guide to working at Disneyland!

The Taste Pilots Grill in California Adventure is a great place to grab a fresh & delicious meal with a colleague to fuel up before tackling a big task ....

This lovely area by Bugs Land may look like a nice peaceful place to get some work done...but....

Just to the right of those cute covered picnic tables are these cute little kids banging on metal objects...which as you can imagine, is not a good environment!

If you go a bit further you will see this peaceful water feature, for those who are looking for a Zen like work experience!

Plus if you feel like taking a break & clearing your head, the Zen like water feature is also fun to play in!! =)

There are also great park benches in beautiful areas that will set the scene for any task on your list...

But watch out for the wild animals! Isn't he cute?

If you feel more at home in the city, head of to Hollywood, and pull up a chair to one of these great sidewalk cafes....you might just see someone famous (like Mickey)!

(Oh, and don't be alarmed by people walking around with these creepy Flintstones looking turkey legs, there is a stand selling them not too far from this location. =)

You can even crunch some good numbers in a local Taxi!

But be aware, there may be some shady characters trying to sneak a peek at your work!!

Working at Disneyland turned out to be a blast, it was fun to bring something different then our normal D-land experience! We had a great time, a great lunch and got tons of work done! Hey, if you have work that is not too exciting and you can make it more fun, why not!?...Thank you for a fun work day Mom! =)

For Brody ♥

Brody has been so excited about going up to Pasadena, to the Rose Bowl to watch the end of Stage 7 of The Tour of California for a while now! Sadly he got a pretty fierce cold/flu (that started to hit him hard on Friday), and decided he wouldn't be able to go---now, you KNOW he is really sick if he is going to pass up this opportunity! I felt so bad that he was going to miss something that he was really looking forward to---I decided I had to do something for him, so I went up myself to take lot's of photos, videos, update him by phone and just be his on site reporter to investigate anything he would like to know...and try to get fun souvenirs and such!
Before I left I made sure he had everything he needed--remotes, phone, plenty of liquids, hot soup, his pillow and so on! =) And I set off to the races to try to make him feel a little closer to it all! =)
It took me forever to get to the parking lot! My GPS only guided me to streets that had been closed for the race. After trying to find a way in myself, I finally came across a cop and asked him how to get in. He sent me to the perfect place! I went through a neighborhood and along a back road (where I almost hit a suicidal squirrel) and came right into the Rose Bowl, after about 30mins of wondering (and race time quickly running out) I was SO happy to see the parking lot (for a minute I thought I was going to miss everything)!! I parked in what turned out to be the Aqueducts Center (for free), and just in time too, as I was walking away security was turning all the cars around and back up the road! I am so glad I didn't get turned away, I got to park so close!! (I took this photo, mainly to remind myself of where I parked) =)
As I was walking toward the Rose Bowl, I was not sure where to go until I heard the cheering crowds and cow bells! =) I walked toward the crowds and saw this to my left going up what looked like a residential street.
They had these big screen TV's all over so you could watch the race when it was not right by you...however these people where watching what was going on right next to them! So I continued walking right in front of this screen on my way to find the real action! =)
Surprisingly I was able to get up pretty close and get what I thought was a good view for getting there with 2 laps to go (I hung around the house on the off chance Brody would jump in the car with me)! Coming here I really didn't know what to expect, or if I would get to see anything---so I was pretty happy with the view I was able to get! AND, I was right by the finish line!! Not too bad huh? =)
After a little bit (well after Lance & Levi had gone by) I was able to sneak up to the front!
Here are....well....some teams going by! =) I am a pretty new cycling fan, so I don't know who everyone is, or who the teams are yet...but here they are!
Oh! After everyone had gone by and they where starting the awards ceremony, some of the fans, who I guess felt too 'fenced in' started opening the gates in front of them and just walking (some ran, which freaked out security and they ran at us with whistles) up to the stage! Someone next to me did the same thing, so I joined the mob and headed to the stage---Hey, I had a sick hubby at home, I had to do my best at getting in the thick of things for him! =)
Here we all are headed up to the stage!
This is where being a little taller would have come in handy, since that wasn't going to happen---I just moved my way up a little more!
Here is Luke Wilson---Who I am pretty sure was later at the 'Herbalife' both and had a HUGH crowd & photographers around him, and I didn't even realize it was him until later that night...I was on a mission to collect fun stuff to bring back to Brody! =)
What a crowd!

The winners!! One of them tossed there roses to the crowd and this lady near me got them! Lucky lady huh?

Go Lance!
The winners board
And here is a photo of what it would have looked like if Brody was able to come with me! =)
Here are some of short videos I took. I didn't edit them because I didn't want to cut someone out that was important with out knowing it! =) I did my best from where I was at, at this point I still had a bunch of people in front of me...
I am glad I was able to go for Brody, it was really fun! But of course I wish he was able to come with me! He is getting better slowly, and I can't wait---the thing I miss the most is his laugh! He hasn't really laughed in about 2 days because it makes him cough & coughing hurts! Love you!! It was so much fun being your personal reporter! =)

Lunch Break

Today Brody and I went down to Balboa Island for a little lunch at 'Picante Martin’s' (a great little Mexican food place), before Brody had to get back to work and then off to school for the night. We also dipped next door into 'Dad's' and grabbed some of our favorite cookies! =) I really love when we get to do something fun like this in the middle of the week (even if it is a short outing), it just makes my week!! =)
Also, this morning we woke up to hail, which was pretty fun! I didn't think to take a photo soon enough so it sort of melted. =)

Dinner & Dancing

Happy Love Day!!!
I love Valentine's Day, it is such a sweet holiday! We had such a wonderful Valentine's Day! I finished up my '7 Days of Valentines' for Brody (where he gets a little surprise everyday) & I woke up to tons of rose's and a cheese bagel w/plain cream cheese, my favorite!! He is just so sweet & knows me so well! =) We then went to Brody's soccer game for the Semifinals & they won!! We are so excited and really hoping we can win league this session! =) Brody took a nice nap and then we headed up to Disneyland (for the first time in a little over a month) for some dinner at one of our favorite Mexican food places!
(I really can't explain the chip photo, except to say that we like to goof around)

After dinner we did what became our most favorite part of the whole day! They had this wonderful live band at the Carnation Plaza that was playing all the great big band love songs (I am sure those of you who have been, have seen bands like this there)! As we walked by they were playing 'The way you look tonight', how can you resist that song?...Brody asked me to dance & It was so much fun!! We just loved it, and ended up spending a lot of the night there! =)
There were plenty of young people out there like us who didn't really know what they were doing (but Brody did work in some moves...some dips and twirls & such), but there were also those who did know what they were doing, and we thought it would be so fun to know some basic dance steps! Not sure yet how we will do it, but we know we would love to. It was so neat to see some of the older couples who knew all these great steps---it made us want to someday be one of those cute older couples who can dance together like that! =)
After dancing up a storm we got some hot chocolates and jump on the train. We ended up getting off at Tomorrow Land and going into Innoventions, where they have all this new technology for your home and other things.
We ended up upstairs playing games! It was really fun!
See how focused I am? I'm racing! =)

We jumped back on the train and got to Main Street just as the fireworks started! =) It was just such a fun & magical night!! I am so grateful for Brody & all the love, fun & joy he brings to my life everyday! I Love you so much!! =)

CC 19 & 20

Last night for our date night, Brody and I had such a fun opportunity to go to the UCI Vs. Long Beach State game---this was even more exciting for us since Brody goes to Long Beach State! We arrived an hour before the game to attend a dinner, where the coach's for UCI came in a little before the game to talk with us about the game, what to expect and answered some questions. The dinner was held down stairs just off an entrance to the court---they also had snacks and drinks at half time! The food was so good!!
We knew our seats were Court side, but neither of us expected it to be this close! We were in a little roped of row away from the stands. Here are our feet on the court---every once in a while we kind of had to move for players or the ref & there were SO many times I flinched when they were passing the ball by us....good thing they always got the ball or it would have hit us! =)
Brody watching the warm up & playing with what ended up being the game ball! (it was next to my chair when we sat down) =)

It was such a blast being so close to all the action!! We got so into the game, and it was a pretty exciting one to watch too---I guess it also makes it more fun when your school is one of the teams. The game had some great plays and the score was pretty close the whole time (but Beach was ahead for most of the game, and every once in a while UCI would up)....you could never really be too sure who was going to win, but of course we were hoping for Long Beach---who ended up winning!!! =)

Not even these weird dots could keep our team down! =)
Our seats
GO BEACH!!!
(see how we are making an L & a B for Long Beach) =)
We had such a blast at this game---it was such an awesome night that we were sort of sad when we saw that the game was almost over! It also made us excited to go to another Long Beach game when they play at home. We have all this school spirit now! =)
