"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences."

Date Night!

Brody has been in Dallas Texas for the past week at the Dallas market. He had a busy and successful show & I am so proud of all his hard work! When he got home very late Sunday night, he surprised me with the idea of a Disneyland date day/night! It was so much fun and I love having him back home!! =)
It has been awhile since we have done our tram shot...so here it is! =)
We ended up eating at Ariels Grotto (I think it's called). We have never been and thought it would be fun to try a new place (I love how we have been going to Disneyland for about 6 years now, and we still have new places to try), the food was amazing!! You pay a flat rate and get served a 3 course meal. The only thing you get to pick is your main course, everything else they give you a nice "sample plate". We loved it!

It was also part 'meet & greet' with the princesses---which we weren't really into, but it is great for young kids of course! =)

We went on several rides and then stopped in at 'It's tough to be a bug' 3D show, we have not been to it in well over a year, so that was really fun! =)

As we were leaving we walked out to this beautiful sunset!

It was such a fun date night!!

Girls Camp!!

Girls Camp was such a blast this year! I LOVE my calling!! These girls were so fun to hang out with and really impressed me everyday. My favorite part was the testimony meeting---my girls where the first up and I think all but one got up to bare her testimony! It was such a great experience and I just LOVE these girls!!
I went and bought decorations before camp so the Camp Councilors from our ward could decorate the cabin for the girls with our 70's theme! They did such a great job, and the girls just loved it!

The first day was took a hike to a river after lunch. And here are some of our girls enjoying the nice cold spring water in the hot sun!
Some of our girls on a nice big log! =)
Us (ward) leaders from the Oak Creek Ward
The girls and a couple of us leaders would stay up until all hours of the night playing games with them! It was a lot of fun!
Before lunch one day, singing some camp songs!

The lake! It was so much fun! I got to go out on the water twice....I could have spent all day out there!!

The girls loved card games! It seemed like they were always playing something new. They know SO many different card games.
The friendship bracelet I made! I made another one that was a lot better, but never took a photo of it! This was the first time I have ever made one! =)

Testimony Meeting!

The last night we started a water fight with other wards around 12:30am! =)

...I could go on and on and on about camp and little stories, like smuggling a Dite Coke for one of my girls! But, bottom line, it was such a blessing to be with these girls and we had a TON of fun!! =)

Kobe sighting!

(click on the photo to make it huge!)
My Mom and I just ran down the hill to the Quiznos (in Newport) and as we were pulling in, Kobe and his family were getting into their car. People were congratulating him and giving him the thumbs up as he drove off--he was so very nice to everyone, thanking them all the time with a huge smile on his face! When I worked at fashion Island he and the family would come in and shop, but It was really fun to see him so close after winning the Championship!
When we went in to Quiznos everyone inside was so excited that Kobe was just in there getting lunch! =) Sorry the photo is not too good, I had to take it on my phone really fast as we were driving by and he had just turned back to help his daughter in the car after nicely waving at someone! =)  They also has Laker flags on the car! =)

San O

Last night was the first of San Onofre Friday nights (of this summer)! This has been a family tradition since I was about 5 years old! I LOVE San O nights!! It is such a mellow beach & gives you a feeling of stepping back in time. No paved parking lots, over crowded beaches, snack bars or tourists (like we have too much of in Newport)---just grass huts, long boarders and people who have been coming for years! It is so relaxing.
We had a really good/fun group. Mostly my parents Singles Ward, and then lot's of others that have also been coming down with us in the summers! We also took the opportunity to start breaking in some new rainbows--it feels so wrong to wear brand new rainbows! =) But soon enough they will be all worn in. My last pair had a hole where my heal is. I thought I had more photos but I guess I didn't take as many as I thought I did. =)

Brody cooking us up some yummy dogs!
I guess this day was bound to happen--We showed up this summer and the towers that have been their since I was 5, have been replaced with this! ...This will take some getting used to. If you want to see the old tower go {here}
Jeff & Brody throwing around the pig skin =)
Little Gabby watching the surf & enjoying her first beach trip!
The Fishers Dog
We roasted some corn! It was SO good!
San O sunsets are SO beautiful!

Camille & Gabby
...enjoying some corn...& laughing apparently =)
The moon reflecting in the water (yes, a bit hard to see)
This too, has always been a tradition for ending the night! It's very cool, it looks like hot lava in the water!
It was such a fun night! And we are looking forward to many more San O nights!! What more could you want in life, then these simple pleasures & memories that last forever!? =)
