"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences."

Del Mar Christmas Lights

On our way out of CHILL, they handed us some flyers for other events. One of them was for this Christmas light display drive around the Del Mar Race track in San Diego. We thought it sounded fun, but didn't know if we would have a chance to go down there before it was over. A couple days before the our vacation I drove Brody all around to some of his accounts to make visits and drop off Christmas goodies to them. We started by heading out to Palm Springs and ended our day in San Diego, not far from Del Mar.
Since we were so close and it was only about an hour till it opened, we got a nice dinner at The Fish Market that is right next to it, and then drove in! It was so fun!! It was all dark pulling up except for all the Christmas lights. They had signs telling us to turn off our headlights, drive at no more then about 5mph and turn our radio to 97.7 FM for their Christmas music!
We pulled in and filled in with the rest of the dark cars, going nice and slow....sometimes stopping to try to get photos. And the Christmas music they had playing was hilarious, we had never heard most of the songs! It was a crack up!
All which eating fish shaped chocolate mints from Fish Market
(the only fish I approve of in life so far. haha)
After making our first round, there was a sign that gave us a choice of going again or leaving...so of course we made another round! : ) The lights were so pretty!
(We only had our phones to take photos with)
This lighted tunnel was the best part!! And Brody took such a great photo of it here with the fish eye lens for the iPhone! : )
The sign says "Holiday of Lights, Del Mar" with a race horse jumping
It was SUCH a fun way to end a really long day of driving! : )
