"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experiences."

Balboa Island

The next day we got to meet back up and play on Balboa Island! We had a great lunch at a long time favorite mexican joint and then treats at Dads Doughnuts, with a nice little walk around the Island. Here are some photos from our visit...ok, a lot of photos! I can't help it! : )

Heading down to the seawall with our lunches
Careful, he might yap you to death ; )

The group after lunch, enjoying a beautiful day at the beach
This was pretty interesting. This guy had some kind of water jet pack, and was taking of and landing on the top of a boat. He could also "fly" along pretty far too. It was pretty funny to watch.

Everyone enjoying some sweets.
It's so fun to spend time down on the Island, and we had a blast showing them around! : )

Pool time

After some time down on the Island, the kids were ready for more pool time (after spending most of the morning already in the pool)! They really loved spending time in the pool, and all of us had a lot of fun watching. And this time Brody joined in the fun. : )

Annah waiting for Brody to do his cannonball
The boys had a lot of fun playing around with standing up on the surf boards.

Brody spent some time helping Roey feel comfortable jumping in the pool. By the end of it, he was confidently leaping in! So fun to watch. :)

So lucky to catch this cute moment with Rya and Dave : )

: )
Started to get cooler in the evening, so everyone warmed up in the hot tube before heading back out again.
Soooo cute! It was hard not to just take photos of little Rya ; )

We then headed up to Downtown Disney for dinner.
Brody and Roey in front of the new Lego store opening! They have some amazing Disney Lego characters around and on the building.
Even though Disneyland wasn't on the list for this trip, they really enjoyed seeing the new entrance for the first time.
Roey the Hulk! Grrr ; )
On top of my Dad's shoulders gave him a nice new view!
Such a fun night!

We love so much our time spent with them!! And already can't wait till they are back in the fall!
We love you guys SO SO much! : )

Memorial Day

We had a fun filled Memorial weekend! Sunday we had a great BBQ with out-of-town family at my parents house---and Monday was packed with packed with on the go fun! Brody got up early and went on a 50 mile ride with friends, then we met them at the movies to see Avengers (great movie!). After the movie we ran down to the Rainbow Factory to get some new summer footwear.
It's so much fun to come down and see what new things they have! I ended up getting actual shoes there instead of sandals, haha.
And this time we signed the HUGE sandal. : )
Traffic was so bad going north, we decided to keep going South and ended up in Oceanside for an early dinner at Joe's Crab Shack. It was so good, and you couldn't bet our view (bottom left photo). We even had a seal out our window (2nd row, far left)!
On our way home, we stopped off at Balboa Island for one of our favorite treats! Hippo cookies from Dad's.
So yummy and a perfect way to end our days adventures!!
(with some extra treats for the rest of the week) : )
(all photos taken with my phone) : )
